Tun Pu Rice (also spelled Tunpu) is a well-established medium-grain variety from Myanmar, widely recognized for its versatility and dependable quality. With grain characteristics that closely resemble several European rice varieties, Tun Pu has gained strong acceptance in international markets.
One of its unique strengths is its role as a raw material for noodle production. Tun Pu rice is commonly processed into rice flour and used to produce popular dishes such as Mee Shay in Taiwan and China, as well as other noodles, snacks, and traditional foods. Its consistent texture and milling performance make it highly adaptable for both direct consumption and food manufacturing.
